SOPHIE is a rotational jewelry holder featuring a sandcasted base with brass brazed holder designed for my little sister Sophie, who makes her own jewelry.
THE PROJECT
SOPHIE was the first thing that I ever made as apart of the design and manufacturing class in the mechanical engineering core. SOPHIE is an ode to the beautiful person that was an inspiration for its design. The most rewarding aspect ofthe process was successful making the ball bearing insert such that my holder could create beautiful, seamless movement that did not detract from the elegance of my piece.
